Switch lite: 3 pros and cons to the Original model

Recently I got a switch lite for myself to use so I would be able to get my own personal Animal Crossing island for myself. After around a month of using the lite as my main switch here is a list of 10 pros and ten cons I’ve come across. Please note that this is gonna be an unordered list so the first pro won’t be my favorite pro, so lets get this started.

Pros:

  1. The weight: One thing I disliked about the original model is the weight in handheld mode. I found that it would cause my hands to get worn out from playing a lot in handheld mode (which was my main way to play) This, however, feels like less of a problem with the lite as I can easily play Animal Crossing for hours on end without my hands or arms cramping up.
  2. The screen size and pixel density: one thing that bugged me about the original switch was the screen in handheld mode. I found that some games such as Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and BOTW looked very jagged and the textures looked like they were lower quality than what they were on the T.V. This problem would often make me want to play on the T.V. and would deter me from wanting to play them in handheld mode. However, thanks to the lite and it’s smaller size the screen is smaller and is very pixel-dense so it makes the games a bit nicer to look at.
  3. Improved Buttons and a D-Pad: The buttons on the switch lite seem to have been somewhat improved. The joycon buttons on the original switch I felt were small and somewhat uncomfortable to place my fingers. However, on the switch lite, they seem to be bigger and more comfortable to use. They also seem to be clicker and nicer to feel. The d-pad is also an improvement, however, it seems to be a lot like the one on the d-pad which is a bit better than the buttons on the joycons.

Cons:

  1. Unable to use a capture card: Because the switch lite cannot be docked there is no HDMI output or any way to get the video from the console it is pretty safe to say it’s hard to record the system. It will be interesting to see if any mod kits or capture kits come out for the switch lite what we saw with the 3ds and ds systems.
  2. Using the lite with the Original: It’s very tricky trying to play games on the switch and the switch lite. For one thing, you have to set it up so one of your systems becomes the primary device. If it’s not the primary device you can’t let others use your digital games and in other to use anything digital you need an internet connection.
  3. Charging is a pain: Unlike the original switch, the lite is a bit of a pain to charge. I think it’s just me being used to the original switch with constant docking when I am not using it. So when I put the switch lite down I forget to charge it.

Here are my points, feel free to comment your opinions down below as I want to hear what you think, until next time goodbye.
